Issue SummaryReporters anxiously await what Matt Murdock has to say about the Daredevil allegations. Matt categorically says it is untrue. He reveals that he has filed a 400 million dollar lawsuit against Rosenthal publications, who own the Daily Globe and host of others involved with the story. And with that, Matt doesn't take any questions and the conference is over.THREE WEEKS LATER A blonde woman arrives at Nelson and Murdock, and is allowed to enter Matt's office, past bodyguards Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Matt is on the phone with a newspaper reporter. The woman takes off her wig, revealing to the reader that it's the Black Widow. Natasha wants Matt to put on his costume and go out, "go bonk some bad guys on the head". Matt wants nothing to do with her, and takes another phone call. Natasha goes to Foggy's office and they discuss Matt's personal issues. Foggy says Matt is a part of a cycle of violence and he can't cope with the guilt of Karen's death at Bullseye's hands. Natasha picks up the phone and calls SHIELD. She needs to get in contact with someone... Matt has dinner with Vanessa Fisk at Fisk Towers, where she gives him the name of the FBI agent responsible for leaking his name to the press. Vanessa reveals she is leaving town and has sold off the Kingpin's businesses. Matt also expresses his condolences on the death of Richard Fisk. An uneasy feeling hangs in the silence... Matt greets Luke Cage outside and Matt is driven home. At his door, Matt gets a whiff of a familiar scent. He can't believe it. He climbs up to his roof. And Elektra is waiting. |
