Issue Summary

Summary by Alice Lynch

Daredevil, Black Widow, Elektra, along with Angela Del Toro, now a former FBI agent, are suddenly the target of a motorcycle riding Bullseye, who throws an entire deck of cards at them. (How'd he get that bike up on that roof? Never mind. It's a great splash page.) Elektra goes after Bullseye, and they fall through a skylight into the office below. The staff is paralyzed with the sudden shock of this fight in their midst.

Angela tells Matt she wants to help, but he thinks she would just get hurt, so he socks her in the jaw and throws her off the building into a dumpster below, breaking her arm in the process, much to Natasha's dismay. Matt tells Natasha to go get Milla and get her to safety, preferably somewhere outside the country.

Bullseye and Elektra have at it for several pages, all the while tossing verbal jabs as well. Bullseye asks, "How many times I gotta kill you in this life?" Daredevil enters the fray, shouting for the office workers to take cover. Bullseye jumps out the window and lands with a FOOM on the roof of a bus. It's too late; one woman has taken a shard of glass to the throat, and she dies in Matt's arms.

Daredevil and Elektra jump out the window after Bullseye, who taunts them in the street. After more fighting, Bullseye suddenly turns and runs away, right into the path of a big truck. BOOM!

Elektra: "Is he alive?" Matt: "Yes! Yes! He is ALWAYS alive!! His legs are broken and he has a shattered rib! But he ALWAYS lives!!!!!11!!!!"

Elektra starts to run Bullseye through with her sai, but Matt stops her, saying they don't need to do that. Elektra tells Matt to go get the papers.

SPOOT! Daredevil is shot from above and behind. He falls to the ground, blood everywhere. Elektra looks up, but can't find the source of the shot. She cradles the wounded Matt in her lap.

Somewhere several blocks away, a helicopter is hovering, trying to confirm the hit. Paladin is the sniper, and he gets on the phone to.FBI Director Delacourt, who asks if Daredevil is dead. Paladin says no, just down as ordered. Delacourt tells Paladin his record is clear, according to their deal. Paladin replies, "It better be. Because if it isn't.I'm coming for you.and for you I'll get up close."

Delacourt calls in the black ops teams. They call back with the news that Daredevil is nowhere to be found, but they have Bullseye, or at least they think this battered dude is Bullseye. Delacourt orders them to take the seventh floor of the building and secure the papers.

Kingpin then drops his bombshell. He tells Delacourt that there are no "Murdock Papers", and that he's given Delacourt his positive proof that Murdock is Daredevil. He says to find Matt Murdock with a wound and match his blood to the blood on the street. And to find Murdock, Delacourt will have to go to the only place a wounded superhero can go. And Ben Urich knows where this place is.

Ben Urich is left in the lurch.
