Issue Summary

Summary by Gloria Porta

Badly wounded and surrounded by dozens of ninjas from The Hand, Wilson Fisk recalls the lasts months in his life.

Wandering through Europe after the death of his wife Vanessa, Fisk reached the Costa da Morte, in Galicia, north-western Spain, and tried, unsuccessfully, to find some peace. However, he found sympathy in Marta, a local woman who seemed not to be afraid of him. In the weeks that followed, Fisk found some solace in her company, and eventually helped Marta with her two kids. She ignored Fisk's past as the Kingpin, but when Wilson tried to bring up the question, she said she wasn't interested in the man he might have been, but in the man trying to change for better.

Fisk spends some happy months in the place with Marta. However, even under her positive influence, Wilson Fisk feels the past isn't really that far behind him. He somehow has the feeling that it will come back to him, sooner of later. And one night he returns to find that the Kingpin hasn't been forgotten: Lady Bullseye and the Hand have come to make sure there's no new life, no second chance for Wilson Fisk, by killing Marta and her children. Fisk fights back fiercely, but he's outnumbered.

Before leaving, Lady Bullseye tells a defeated Fisk that Daredevil is one of the reasons why they are there.

A stumbling Wilson Fisk leaves Marta's house in fire behind him. He probably won't come back to the Costa da Morte. The Kingpin is about to return.
