Issue Summary

Summary/Review by Michael Deeley

The super-strong Ox escapes prison with a small scientist named Karl Stragg. They return to Mr. Fear's hidden laboratory where Stragg creates a brain-swapping machine. Stragg takes control of the Ox's body, while leaving the Ox's mind in his frail form. Stragg goes on a rampage, which is unusual for him. He theorizes some of the Ox's savagery has influenced him.

Daredevil arrives to end Stragg/Ox's rampage. As luck would have it, Karen Page is nearby. Ox knocks out Daredevil, dresses him in his clothes, then takes Karen back to the lab. The police find DD dressed as the Ox and conclude he caused all the destruction! Back at the lab, Ox/Stragg knocks out his former body and escapes with Karen. Stragg/Ox pursues, growing more angry with each passing minute. The Ox's return convinces the police they have the wrong man. They release Daredevil who finds the Ox on a roof. The Ox leaps for DD, only to fall of the building to his apparent death. At the end, Daredevil notes how the Ox sounded like himself again. On the ground, the Ox feels himself growing smarter like Karl Stragg. He decides to finish out his sentence in prison and start a new life.

The Ox, and his similarly strong brother, would appear occasionally in later Marvel comics.
