In 1963, General Harry Kenkoy kills the people who released an experimental gas into NYC's subways. Eddie Passim escapes thanks to his telepathic powers.
Today, Daredevil is fighting the Crippler, a sadistic member of Silver Sable's Wild Pack. DD's costume is torn to shreds. He sends him back to Sable with a warning to back off. After a quick sewing session with Karen Page, he visits a homeless woman to learn more about Eddie. That's when Sable breaks in. DD tells Sable she's being duped. She lets go, but demands proof. Daredevil does track down Eddie. He gets a psychic flash of "Theresea" being tortured before Eddie flees in terror. Hellspawn has arrived.
Meanwhile, the Snakeroot have taken John Garrett's body from storage. They want the essence Elektra left in his head. The Chaste discuss how to stop the Hand from taking this essence. One member, the only one wearing leopard-spotted fabric over their white coat, volunteers to go. He, or she, picks up a sai.
Ben Urich's intern Sara has successfully hacked into Urich's office computer, holding files about Matt Murdock's double life as Daredevil.
In case you're wondering, Hellspawn was Daredevil's evil twin created in the crossover 'Infinity War'. It first appeared in 'Daredevil' #310. The Crippler first appeared in 'Daredevil' Annual #7, and returned in Annual #8, before joining Silver Sable in her series.
