Profile written by: Greg McQueen
An insidious foe who has slipped in and out of our hero's life, always leaving death and destruction behind him. Killgrave came on to the scene as a spy who obtained the ability to manipulate people by controlling their minds. It was Killgrave who was directly responsible for the death of Heather Glenn's father (Heather Glenn was one of Matt Murdock's love interests). The death of Glenn, and the eventual deterioration of his relationship with Heather, led Daredevil to a bitter battle with Killgrave at Ryker's Prison; aided by the mercenary Palladin, Daredevil confronted several of his old foes, also being controlled by Killgrave, and finally came face-to-face with his hated nemesis, Killgrave. In a fantastic battle to the finish, Killgrave appeared to plunge to his death from high atop the prison's walls; but it was found later that he escaped, eager to amass his villainous resources once again. It wasn't until much later that Killgrave was apparently killed while actually being used as a powerful pawn in a story outside of the Daredevil continuity.
