Issue Summary

Summary/Review by Michael Deeley

Daredevil and Ka-Zar are gassed by an enemy spy. Daredevil recovers quickly and follows the spy back to the Plunder castle. He finds Parnival Plunder thrashing Peepers for his treachery. The spy tries to kill Parnival, but kills Peepers instead. (Peepers?) Parnival knocks out the spy and takes the medallion. DD stops Parnival from opening the crypt containing Anti-Metal just long enough for the police to arrive. But they've come to arrest Daredevil! Parnival told the police Daredevil and Ka-Zar had killed a man that night. They already have Ka-Zar in custody. Daredevil escapes, and calls Foggy to defend Ka-Zar in court.

Meanwhile, Parnival Plunder has uncovered his father's discovery-Anti-Metal, a substance that can destroy any metal with its weird radiations. Parnival creates weapons that fire Anti-Metal rays then outfits himself in the most generic villain costume ever! DD returns to Castle Plunder to see Parnival prepare his gang for an attack on a North Atlantic early warning missile base. DD secretly takes the place of one of the thugs, and watches the Plunderer easily destroy all resistance. DD unmasks himself and drives back the gang. With radio channels open, he announces the Plunderers weapons are useless against plastic! (Like no one could figure that out.) Daredevil finally subdues Parnival Plunder and unmasks him. The soldiers overcome the rest of the gang. Parnival admits he framed Ka-Zar and Daredevil for murder. This comes as good news to Foggy; his case would be difficult to win after Ka-Zar goes berserk in court!

Matt, Foggy, and Karne are reunited in Ka-Zar's hospital room. Matt wonders if Ka-Zar will remain in the civilized world that fears him, or return to the Savage Land? More importantly, how's Matt going to explain his miraculous return from the dead?

"Anti-Metal" was later renamed "Antarctic Vibranium", after Vibranium was introduced in the pages of 'Fantastic Four'. It's the only known way to destroy the otherwise indestructible metal Adamantium.

Finally, Peepers? It's just such an odd name!
