The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

Fanboys talk about event fatigue, how about relaunch fatigue?

Do we really need or want a new DD #1? Even if it gives Marvel a sales bump, won't the figures go back to down to their average numbers after the 'new-ness' wears off and the temporary fans leave again?

Why not work to better the current title instead of resorting to this tired cliche of relaunching a 'newer, better' title?

As I said in the other post, I think when the relaunch happens after the Reborn mini, we will have a new team. It really doesn't make sense to keep the same team that isn't pulling in great numbers or producing a notable run. I've enjoyed his run for what it is, but it's certainly not Bru, Bendis, or Miller level by a mile.

But that's the thing...why would Marvel remove a writer or team for that matter that just produced loads of sold-out issues?

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with Diggle's writing. But I do pray to both the devil and God to see Warren Ellis or Mark Millar on DD. But it looks like Diggle earned his right to stay. But he has a lot to prove after Reborn.

I don't see how he has earned the right based on his sales numbers. The numbers should be based on regularly monthly sales. He regularly did 10,000 less than Bru when he left. Hovering at 35,000 isn't a Marvel success story. He has sold out some issues recently, but they are event issues. Those shouldn't count. Plus, for an event, DD still is only 40th on the sales chart. That isn't a success story.

Putting sales aside, I think we would all agree that we would like a return to character driven stories by a writer who understands Matt and the underbelly of Hell's Kitchen. (don't mean to speak for everyone; sorry if you don't agree)
