I didn't goto the LCS, last week. So, this is a double list and by the looks of it, I'll be broke almost as soon as I get my paycheck on Wednesday. Very Happy

Stuff that came out, last week:
Batman #666

Countdown #40

Green Arrow Year One #2 - Issue #1 was amazing!

Green Lantern Corps #14 - More Sinestro Corps. Cool Cool Cool

Martian Manhunter Showcase - I can't wait to read these old school Martian Manhunter stories! Very Happy

Tank Girl #2

Wonder Woman #11 - J. Torres filler before Gail Simone saves this title.

This week:

All New-Atom #14 - The search for Ray Palmer! Cool

Countdown #39

DD Battlin' Jack #3 - Daredevil's mom is a nun

Detective Comics #835 - Dini is insane! Cool

GL Wanted: Hal Jordan HC - Great story! (Those Guardians are creeps.)

JSA #8

Metal Men #1 - This is going to be fun!

Nightwing #135

...And I think I'll put off the new Whiteout TPB until next week.

Willingham told everybody at the Comic Con that Jack of Fables is going to start "crossing over" kinda with Fables. So I'll be picking up the first Jack of Fables trade.

Last week was an unusually large week for me (also a busy week, so I didn't get to posting), so this week it's back to slim picking's...

DD: Battlin' Jack #3 - Enjoying this so far...only one more issue after this one.

For any interested, last week was:
Uncanny X-Men Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire HC
Immortal Iron Fist HC
Essential Spider-Woman Vol. 2 TPB
Immortal Iron Fist #7
Cable/Deadpool #43
Transformers: Megatron Origin #2

I was thinking of picking this up. Astonishing once a year isn't enough X-Men but I hear not so great things about Uncanny. Still, is it worth it?

I guess since people are weighing in on last weeks comics also, so will I. This summer has been a very full season. Each Wednesday with the comics coming out I seem to always have a "big" week, for me at least. I am definitely not fond of comics being late but I also (for my wallet) don't like them coming out several times in a month. Action Comics, Superman, Batman, Detective, there is a two week gap between Hulk. They are canceling all Spider-man titles except Amazing (after "One More Day") and having it come out three times a month. I have a budget for comics and if when that happens if I want to keep buying Amazing (I don't buy the others) I have to basically add two more titles. I don't know if I will keep getting it, it makes me upset.
Back on topic.
Last week:
Batman #666- I don't know I haven't felt a great flow to Morrison's run yet. It hasn't clicked with me

Green Arrow Year One #2- Great so far. I am really enjoying the new retelling of his origin.

Hawkgirl #66- What can I say, it is a lousy comic. I collected all the Hawkman issues and when I heard it was being canceled I wanted to finish the whole set. This last story totally messed with how Geoff Johns set up Kendra. I really didn't appreciate it.

Superman #665- Another countdown crossover. I am getting tired of it.

Amazing Spider-man #542- Great issue, Peter is pissed. It is funny though, I am not really buying the whole involvement of the Kingpin. It seems like they are really forcing him to back in a Spider-man comic.

Hulk #108- Although I am digging World War Hulk, this was a kind of throw away issue. Barely had Hulk in it at all.

Iron Man #20- Surprisingly, I enjoyed this issue. Like the Hulk above, it barely had Tony in it. I am just waiting to see how this whole "Civil/World War...Skrull War" turns out.

As a week goes, not a great batch of comics.

This week:

Action Comics #853

Detective # 835

Fantastic Four #548- Enough with the Black Panther.

Punisher Max #50!!!!

Thor #2- Still early

There is a hardcover of this, already? I picked up the first couple issues but (somehow) managed to wait for the trade. Good thing because I love hardcovers! Very Happy

Agreed on both accounts. I think Batman will pick up. Morrison is better than this. ...Of course, maybe Batman is a little too lowkey for Morrison. After all, I didn't like Brubaker's Uncanny much (compared with everything else he's written). I think it was just not his element. Detective Comics still rocks! And Batman Confidential #7 started a new arc by Heroes writer [something] Green and it was great!

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I don't usually delve into the X-Men segment of the Marvel Universe much because there are seemingly 100 monthly books to keep up with. That being said, I'm pretty much a Brubaker fiend so I picked it up. This also continues the Vulcan story that Brubaker laid out in Deadly Genesis. If you liked that, this should interest you.

There sure is! It collects issues 1-6 as well as the 8 page lead-in story that was in a Civil War one shot (the same 8 page story that was re-printed in the Director's Cut of Immortal Iron Fist #1).

I've also been bitten by the HC bug. I prety much don't bother with tpbs anymore unless they don't even print a HC.
