I just finished reading the trade paperback of Infinity Gauntlet, and Daredevil is listed as one of the heroes that disappeared when Thanos wiped out half of the universe's population. Judging from the publication date, it would seem that Infinity Gauntlet took place late in Ann Nocenti's run on Daredevil.
It seems strange to me that they would choose to have Daredevil be one of the disappeared when he has an ongoing title. Does anyone know if this was ever addressed? |

I haven't read infinity gauntlet(will get to that eventually) but I do know the general plot if it. My guess us that they killed dd because he wasn't that important of a character in that storyline. Besides, they brought him back at the end so there's nothing really wrong with killing him. |

I'm thinking it was closer to the start of DG Chichester's run. Not sure if it was specifcally dealt with in Daredevil.
Considering that half the population of the Universe got wiped out you'd think it would have been a bigger deal but then again everything is back to normal by the end of the series. I think it's one of the magical timing things about comics that answers this query. I can't remember the actual time span of Infinity Gauntlet but I'm guessing everything took place in the space of a few days even though it came out over a 6 month period. So Matt's disappearance just happens somewhere in that 6 month period but never really mentioned because half the people disappeared anyway, it's just a thing you deal with when you live the Marvel U I guess.
Did that make sense? |
