Overall, I liked Bendis's run better, but I thought Brubaker did a good job. It didn't really pick up until Vanessa arrived, though.

I was planning on dropping the book after Brubaker left to save some money, but I guess I'll give Diggle a chance for a couple of issues.

Also, I'm glad that Brubaker brought Owl back after Bendis unceremoniously had Hood pump him full of bullets.

But about that Nocenti backup. Really, that was a concentrated shot in the arm of Nocentieness. F*ck, I wish she'd got a longer piece...

I liked it (Bru-Lark last issue).
Maybe better after a second read.

There were moments that reminded me their first arc. Lots of thing happening but almost everything solid and well done.
So I regret that Bru spent more than the half of his run writing a depressed and depressing DD. What took Izo so long to apply the Milla treatment to Matt ?
"Sorry, I was waiting for the milestone issue."
Decompression and writing for the trade are killing comic-books.

At the end, I was wondering if all the "proving yourself" stuff was a bit self reflective from Brubaker about his own run.
For me, it's been a good but uneven run, with a great first arc and rushed but original ending.

The Nocenti-Aja backup was nice. Aja did a great job channeling Mazz while keeping a bit of his own style.
Nocenti hasn't lost her Nocentiesque touch.
Where do you think this story might fit in the continuity ?
I think it's before "Guardian Devil". After the pictures failed, Bullseye tried the billy club. Too bad Karen was in the way!

Daredevil #500 was awesome! If you guys read the whole Brubaker run, you will know that with all the woes that Matt has faced, him wanting to shed light on an evil group like The Hand is not far-fetch.

Loved the Ann Nocenti back-up story.

I hope Andy Diggle thrill us to the maximum. He was given by Brubaker a very good $#!+ to jump on. I mean, "The Devil in Cell Block D" is Brubaker's best storyline because Bendis gave him a good jumping point I believe.

And oh yeah, Purple Man...please!

I have to say, I knew where Bru was going with this final story of his, but I was afraid that he wasn't going to be able to pull it off without butchering the story and Matt himself.

After reading this issue, I'm glad to say that not only did Bru pull it off, but he did so magnificently.

Bru paces the story beautifully as he peppers the main story with short past stories that answer all the questions that we have been wondering about.

I knew Tarantula was Izo's "inside guy" from the get go, so that didn't surprise me in the least, however, I was surprised to see that Lady Bullseye was all part of his plan.

One of the best things Bru did during his run was introducing Izo into the DD mythos. Bru even went so far as to embed him into DD's origin, as he was the one who sent Stick to mentor Matt. That was great, IMO.

The only thing I'm worried about with this new status quo is the fact that Bru is no longer steering the ship. Hopefully, Diggle has a good grasp on what Bru's direction is and he doesn't drop the ball. I think this could lead to some great stories and I'm definitely loving this book as much as I ever have.

IMO, Bru's run has to be considered as one of the best DD runs ever. He did such a superb job of executing his plans that this issue tied up everything amazingly well. It was brilliant.

My only complaints are that we have to wait until October for #501 and that Lark is no longer the artist.
