I don't see why it wouldn't be considered canon. Maybe the Santerians still exist -- who am I to say? |
I'm sure it is considered "canon".
In fact, Joe Quesada has recently talked about his intention to write more about the Santerians at some point in future.
From this interview:
Quote: | On the subject of characters returning, any chance of you writing/drawing the Santerians again in a future project or possibly even another creator?
Joe Quesada: I’ve been promising myself that I’d get back to the Santerians as I have an origin story for NeRo and the team that’s just sitting there waiting to be told, but I have so much on my plate that I have absolutely no idea when I’ll be able to get to it. To be honest, I’ve got so much writing and penciling work on my desk on top of my regular job that I have to be reasonable and honest with myself that it’ll be a couple of years before I can actually get back to the Santerians. |

If someone has to die, I hope its a peripheral character, like White Tiger. |
I personally think that any of these characters have more to offer alive than dead, and hope that Brubaker won't resort to the easy "shocking" solutions lesser writers would.
Any earlier death has taken more than it has given, apart from the "foundational" death of Jack Murdock, or Elektra's (which was a great story), other deaths seem just so pointless and have done little to improve a poor story. To me the deaths of Karen Page and Glorianna O'Breen are a case in point... Can't just characters in DD just leave for good (as, for instance, Debbie Nelson did?). To kill Dakota would be plain stoopid, and Inspector Kurtz, if a recently introduced character, is an interesting enough one.
What I mean to say is, if you take Crispus Allen, from Gotham Central and Catwoman, I think he was a far more interesting character alive -as an ordinary, dedicated cop- than a cadaver dressed in the Spectre's green bikini.
Keep the supporting cast alive. _________________ Gloria

Oh. I immediately thought of you, Gloria, when I read this. I'm afraid for Foggy, too....!
Could Brubaker be planning to kill off more than one member of the supporting cast? Really leave a knot for Diggle in that 'DD's in prison' way that is the new Daredevil gauntlet for writers to run? A lower point than prison would be to have no one left in his life at all. Well, Master Izo, I guess.......
Look out.
Any way you slice it, I'm betting Dakota is out of the picture.
P.S. I've been re-reading v2 and am amazed all over again at how much I love Maleev! Oh, man. He makes the book. And this tme through I find that I like Milla as a character in a way I never did before. |

Leaving Matt in prison is one thing, but if someone's going to take away DD's entire supporting cast then I'd expect him to stick around and deal with the fallout. I don't think Brubaker's that cruel. |

I just read #119, good as always, one minor thing though, Tarantula and White Tiger are under The Hand control? One of them both is working for Izo?
Also, in Lady Bullseye arc, what the heck happened to Iron Fist? We see him getting beaten then nothing for the rest of the following issues. |

You're right, Dante. We've not seen Danny in a while and it's weird with master Izo around to fight he Hand.
Maybe we'll see him in action in #500? _________________ Gloria

Maybe he'll be the one to save Foggy Nelson, and in doing so he'll have the chance for rematch against Tiger&Tarantula. |

Yes, I'm hoping Danny might save the day...
On the other hand (pun, pun) I think that Black tarantula is acting funny... for being a Hand-possessed zombi I mean.
(and hoping there's something there that saves the day, too) _________________ Gloria

I wanted to read it again before saying this, but to me this issue is sadly below average. I wonder how it got a 8.0/10 (impressive) rating at ign. |

I would rate this far above the last issue, which (as far as I recall) didn't really lead anywhere. This issue was pretty solid, and advanced the plot in some intriguing ways (though if I actually thought that Foggy would die, I'd be upset), but I still have to wonder about why on Earth the Hand would want Matt Murdock to lead them. That still remains the weakest part of the whole plot. I get the Kingpin's motivations, but the whole Lady Bullseye angle is a mystery to me. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |
