I was looking for a statue to serve as the centerpiece for my Daredevil collection, and I decided to go with this:

While I'm partial to the black costume personally, I really love this statue. So I got it yesterday, opened up the shipping box and pulled it out.

As I was about to open it and display it, I saw that there was a sticker over the opening marking it as #1 of 1,000. I have a few of the Dark Knight Trilogy statues from Diamond Select (and a Batman TAS one as well), and I've never before gotten a #1, or anything close to #1.

My question is, regarding this DD one. Should I open it (from the bottom, preserving the sticker), or is it valuable enough that I should keep it sealed, and just buy a second one to open?

I am leaning toward opening it from the bottom. But I wanted to check with DD fans first and see what the consensus is. When I ordered this from BBTS, I picked the "damaged" grade to get it a few dollars cheaper (knowing that while I'd keep the package, I was planning to open it and display it, so I didn't care that the package was damaged). The only damage is a hole in the bottom of the box. It's about the size of a quarter, and looks to be an accidental thing where someone put it on top of something by accident.

Anyway, thoughts on whether I should open it from the bottom, or simply keep it and get a second one?
