No. |
Exactly. |
He beat him in Man Without Fear.
It's ridiculous that you would put up such a weak one work, dishonest response to this but not deal with my devastating rebuttal of your misleading post. Obviously you don't actually want to debate. Classic cowardly trolling. |
I've already flattened you on that point. Apparently, you still haven't recovered. |
How so? You didn't respond. _________________ JC

yes, his father used to beat him. and not only in Man Without Fear, it was also shown in a flashback in Miller's run. |

You're still punchy. Your (false) assertion earlier was that, "Anyone who has actually read any Daredevil knows that Matt has a very conflicted relationship with his father. His father used to beat him."
...which, of course, is recognized by "anyone who has actually read any Daredevil" as an utter misrepresentation of their relationship. And here's me "not responding" to it--it's on the first page of replies in this thread, and you wisely avoided the subject after it (and was called on that too):
"His father slapped him once when he was young. It was an incident created by Frank Miller to show why Matt chose law as his profession. In context, Jack Murdock had always been adamant that his son would have a better life than he'd had, that Matt would be of some respected profession, not some street brawler, and getting into fights was absolutely forbidden. Matt got into a fight and came home quite pleased with himself while Jack was drunk. It broke Jack's heart and he clipped him, then was immediately horrified by it--the only time anything like that ever happened. It has never diminished Matt's expressed love and respect for his father."

A single slap a single time in an extraordinary circumstance, the only time anything like that ever happened. The business during Miller's run is recounting the same single incident as "Man Without Fear" (which is non-canonical anyway). |

That wasn't what I was referring to and you know it. Please stop trolling and apologize. _________________ JC

Yeah, sure. A single slap. So what, we need the entirety of the childhood told via flashbacks, to tell?
Miller was pretty clear in describing Jack as a man who had his moments of weakness, yet for some reason you keep saying he was "world best dad ever", and this just because you decided you didn't like some panels with no text from a preview. |

Also, man without fear is canonical because in the regular series events happening only in it are referenced, that is: Matt killing Larks, inadvertently having the woman who later became Typhoid Mary fall from a window and, finally, Matt's dad working as a mob enforcer.
This last one, in particular, is very recent (brubaker's run) and also showcases an instance of Matt having a "not so good" memory of his dad. Please, keep ignoring this so I'll post the scan. |

I'm waiting for the flashback story someday of Jack Murdock and Izzy Mandlebaum fighting over what's the better accomplishment, "#1 Dad" or "World's Greatest Dad."

They show Matt being angry at his father for something.
No big deal if you ask me. People have both good and bad memories of relatives and friends who have passed away. |

BAM!
It's like Marvel is intentionally doing things to prove jriddle wrong at this point. I love it. _________________ JC

That you think that proves wrong anything I've said is almost as amusing as your reaction to it. |

It's hardly news that reading comprehension problems extend beyond the Waid apologists. |

*sigh* I knew better than to click on this thread again. This sounds like my 8 and 12 year olds fighting. Give it a rest and allow this thread to die. Please.... |
