I don't know if anybody else has the same opinion as I do, but I'm not feeling anything for Daredevil volume 3. The artwork leaves a lot to be desired and the stories are rather childish compared to the darker, grittier back end issues of volume 2, as for Coyote..........oh dear. Confused I'm all for a slightly more upbeat less dark DD, but the title seems to be aimed at the younger reader these days and leaves very little for the more mature fan.

I feel your pain. I dropped the book after the first arc. Although I will be picking it up again on issue 23 to give it a 2nd chance. I'm waiting for End of Days to come on in trade or hardcover but from what I understand that's more of the DD you and I know and love. I'm hoping that if that book does well Marvel will put out something like a DareDevil Max.

I applaud the change in tone. Tragedy and pain will always be a part of Matt's life, but it's nice to see a ray of sunshine once in awhile. Waid has shown a good grasp of the characters, their relationships, and shown a new and fresh depiction of Matt's abilities.

The artwork naturally follows suit to such a change in style and mood, with Rivera, Martin, and now Samnee putting forth some real solid, terrific work.

love the art, love the storytelling, it is fresh exciting and new and the artwork is the most appropriate in terms of what daredevil needs, it really reflects him.
The covers are the best since Maleev too.

There seems to be no in-between on this. I'm with those who think Waids' take on this is aimed at younger readers, and the stories, even the current horror plot, cross the line from fantastic to ridiculous. Contrast to Nocenti, who wrote excellent mature fantasy. It's frustrating to see a character with a deeply felt history like Milla brought in for a quick shock and then dropped, while Matt's current love interest comes off like a cliche from a TV cop show. As for the art, I know it's supposed to be expressive, but I can't stand it. It looks like it was drawn by a kid with crayons.
This doesn't mean that the past of Miller and Bendis can simply be duplicated. I liked Brubaker well enough, but the stories were getting chaotic and the blood quota was too high. And End of Days so far feels like a rehash. I guess I'm fortunate to have read years of DD's best runs, and can hope that someday there'll be another.

Waid is no Miller, Brubaker, or Bendis. But I do love the current run. Knowing DD, knowing Matt, this is just a calm before another storm. I am enjoyin the quiet before the inevitable chaos.

As for the art...bleh! Other than that of Paolo Rivera's.

Art is the only problem I have with this current run. DD enters Marvel NOW! with issue 23 and we don't get a different artist. boo-hoo! Olivier Coipel is not doing anything for Marvel. Would love to see him take a stab at DD.

Number 21 is a solid issue.

Samnee must have had fun with that freaky depiction of the Spot. And it's nice to see that things remain unsettled between Matt and Foggy.

A solid end to a solid arc.

Really enjoyed the issue, good story, good horror bits, not great art. Loving DD right now, the dark stories people bang on about need to be used infrequently or they lose impact, this story was pretty dark, if drawn by someone else it could have seemed much darker and more terrifying.

Solid issue. 4 stars. Missing a wow factor to make it a 5, But I loved the ending and I'm not even a Spidey fan. I could see limited Marvel readers not picking up on who this Spidey was. Probably should of had a non-spoiler editor's note there.
