Mines are...
#169 Devils because I thought Bullseye was so crazy killing those innocent people who look like Daredevil to him.
#226-233 of the Born Again storyline because as I read it, if I were a superhero, I would not want a villain like the Kingpin to know my identity. My life would be ruined.
What are your favorite issues of Daredevil? |

These are my favorites!
168
"Elektra" (the flashback of this issue is awsome!)
177
"Where Angels Fear To Tread" (I love the reunion and training with stick after many years!)
181
"Last Hand" (that issue is just... epic!!)
232
"God and Country"
233
"Armageddon" (the story, Miller, Mazzucchelli... Ô.Ô I think it's the favorite of my favorites!)
The Guardian Devil (this the best story arc I've read!)
There are no issues of the Stan Lee's or Gene Colan's times but I also really love those comics! |

Trying to pick issues is really hard especially because I read all of Volume 2 in Hardcover.
I'm going to have to cop out and pick Daredevil #500 which includes my favorite Frank Miller issue #191. Then I actually prefer the back up story by Ann Nocenti over the actual issue.
I'll probably come back later and pick some more issues. _________________ Random Insanity since.... Ummmmm... Tuesday? |

Billy club catching the throwing stars
Murdock in the morgue
""Matt smiles. Just a little."
the culmination of the Brubaker run.
I couldn't pen down just a single issue of the Bendis run yet. |

Decalogue from Vol. 2
Issue #71-#75
Hands down my favorite.
Barely even features DD at all. Bendis at his peak.
Golden Rut from vol. 1
Issue # 268
I not a huge fan of Nocenti's stuff but I thought this was great.
Kind reminds me of Miller's Badlands issue #219 _________________ How do you kill a man without fear?

Daredevil #181 is the single greatest issue of a comic book of all time. The entire thing is narrated by Bullseye, but Miller is showing you things that directly contradict his narration. It's headspinningly brilliant. |

Favorite Issue? Unquestionably Daredevil Volume #1 #300 (written by Dan Chichester and Lee Weeks), wherein The Kingpin was finally toppled. Phenomenal story and a truly memorable cover.
Worst issue ever? Daredevil Volume #1 #260. Among the most violent comics ever published. |

I don't remember the issue no but its DD Vs the Absorbing Man! DD takes on one of the most powerfull villains of the Marvel U, shows his fearlessness, stubbornness and great use of his superpowers, brilliant stuff.
Also of note are -
DD breaking out of jail a couple of years ago, the final issue was amazing,
Hardcore, not a big Bendis fan but this arc was superb. _________________ when walking just walk, when sitting just sit, above all don't wobble. |

The five issue mini-series The Man Without Fear! That set the tone for me, been hooked ever since. As far as I'm concerned... that was some of Miller's best work! Even better IMHOP than the Dark Knight returns and Batman Year One. My collection starts with Miller's Daredevil.

My favorite issue is probably #163 where he battles the Hulk finally someone that I can understand beating up DD not like other cheezy villains. Other issues I really enjoyed were #181, #200, #254 (1st Typhoid), #257, #300, Born Again 227-233, Return of the King (I think 116-500) |

Too many to mention, but a few that really stand out from Vol 1 - #44-46, #146-148,#179 (which is probably my favourite DD issue ever), #250-251.
Vol 2 - #1, #5, #26, #49
Vol 3 - #1 |

Man Without Fear mini, really my fav Miller work.
#208 - Harlan Ellison's one-shot story. First issue of DD I ever bought as a kid, also explains why Death-Stalker remains one of my favorite DD villains. (When a villain's mother wants to kill you, you've made enemies )
#215 - O'Neil and Mazzucchelli. A team-up of sorts between DD and the Two-Gun Kid. Great story, wonderful art. |

I am going to go off book and say daredevil #364 the last Karl Kesel issue. He is probably my third favorite DD writer (after Miller and Bendis), but one that will never be collected. I don't know how anybody can read that issue and make the argument that Karen Page is more valuable stuffed in a fridge then alive. |

I'm glad the question was favourite issue and not best issue because my favourite is "A Beer with the Devil" (#266) and thinking about it I can't really describe it as great but I love it. I think a lot of it is that in this story Matt's just one of the common people like us. I mean which other superhero is spending Christmas day in a bar. The Avengers have their mansion and the X-Men their school. The FF are a family and Spidey had Aunt May and MJ but bar where some kinda violence has occurred at one time or another) with metaphysical hijinks (can't say I've ever had to deal with the Devil in quite the same way as Matt). It also shows the two sides of humanity, our cruelty and kindness. Then there's the art, I don't even like JRJR's art but it blends perfectly with the story here. Also, how cool does DD look with his busted jaw and a beer, I think I'm going to have carry around some images from this issue at conventions as reference material so I can tell artists "can you sketch me a Daredevil like that?"
So no the greatest issue but one I go back to read over and over again. |
