Check this out: This was originally going to be the cover to DAREDEVIL 167, before the CHILD'S PLAY arc got moved to later on (because of the drug use in the story).

Thanks for posting this, Kuljit. Interesting to see after all this time.
I wonder why it's remained hidden for 30 years? |

I'll try to find out how they got that cover. It is strange that we've not really seen this before.
If this issue had come out, then Elektra's first appearance wouldn't have been #168! _________________ Kuljit Mithra

Did the original 'Child's Play' that ran into trouble with the Comics Code Authority take up two issues like the eventual story in #183/184? I seem to remember reading a Miller interview where he cites certain objections they came up with and changes being made but I can't remember if they started again from scratch or not. If it originally ran as a two parter, I wonder why the eventual change of cover for one of them? This original 'new' find seems a lot more striking to me than the one that eventually saw light with #183, (but not as hard hitting as #184).
I guess '...The Mauler' wouldn't have seen the light of day and 'Elektra' would then come along #169 or #170? |

Oh yeah, you're right, I forgot about the fill-in for 167. I guess those kinds of emergency jobs don't happen anymore... they just delay the book until it's done. _________________ Kuljit Mithra
