The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

I must agree on the coloring. The bright reds and greens are great. I love the old drab style, but Bright is good too.

At one point I pretty much forgot that Matt's hair was supposed to be red!

"You'll notice that in my run I haven't been using an interior monologue for Matt, except when he dreams. So the only time you see his interior monologue is when we see into his subconscious. And there's a very specific reason for that, which will become apparent during the course of 'Shadowland.'"

From Andy Diggle's interview about Shadowland. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=25788

Looks like I was right about this being intentional at least. I still wish we'd get some internal monologue from other characters though.

It is an artistic decision and I will have to wait to read the arc as a whole to decide if it worked. It has the potential to be a great character study when looked at as a whole.

No interior monologue makes sense if this arc is about how close to the dark side or beyond Matt gets. We see his actions but we don't know his reasoning, thus is he truly becoming evil or just acting? (Reminds me of Hamlet to a degree.)

Myself, I'm happy there's finally some acknowledgment of his radar sense during fights. With the last few issues, it's been quite absent.

Bakuto is something of a stereotypical character, but I've enjoyed him so far. Matt has done very little to convince or dissuade him. In fact, the more Matt rails, the more convinced Bakuto becomes Matt needs to be taken out of the picture.

I'm a bit confused over White Tiger though. Her dismissal of mysticism was jarring and really brought the dialogue to a halt for me. The end was a nice reveal, but given her 'apparent' confidence and such (not to mention glowing red eyes), I wonder if this isn't some form of split personality for her. BT may not have fully cured her and thus a portion of that side of her still exists but she is unaware of it. Yes, it's a minor idea, but I think that may explain her awkward comment to Matt. (She couldn't have been lying to him about it. Wouldn't Matt detect it?)

Of course, this does little to explain her new connection to the Hand or to this splinter group. Unless she's had previous ties to the group in the past....

Love the dream sequence.

This cover needs to be a poster. SERIOUSLY. Very Happy

This review linked below pretty nicely sums up my feelings on DD 506. Whether I'll be picking up 507 is still nebulous at this point, but the artwork from that issue posted a couple weeks back is very impressive. It's too bad I have to say I doubt the story will follow suit since issue 506 and 505 were the worste DD issues since.......since I've become a DD fan. That'snot say they're bad, but they're certainly not what I've come to expect from this title. I've clearly been spoiled. Anyhow, below is teh aforemention link to the review appositly expressing my feelings on 506 and the run of the new creative team to date with absolute exception the outstanding artistry by de la Torre. Have a look.
