There will be a new artist for issue #501 (the start of Diggle's run) however they have not announced who it will be as of yet. _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

Brubaker's style of writing fits perfectly with Daredevil's mythos. He's not ultra-tech, not ultra-powerful, not facing world-ending dangers, at his heart, Matt is a street-fighter on the down-and-dirty front lines of the city. Brubaker's style of writing is perfect for such scenarios which is why I've enjoyed his stories and which is why I'll hate it when he leaves.
Rightfully so, his Captain America gets all the praise and glory but I would rank his DD work right behind that. (I have yet to read any fan praise of his X-Men work which I find odd)
I have no problems with Diggle. The only book I've read by him was the Adam Strange:Planet Heist mini from a few years ago and that was enjoyable. I'm not going to drop the title because of his coming onboard. Rather, I want to see what he brings to the table.
I think that's one problem with new writers to the book. DD is such an unusual and unique hero that some writers seem to have problems in what to do with him. Like I said earlier, he doesn't have all the gizmos nor can he move mountains. He doesn't fight off alien invasions. He's a straight-up crime-fighter (which makes him more similiar to Cap which goes a long way to explaining Brubaker's success with both characters)
Diggle may have some intriguing ideas. Just have to wait and see. |

I think most of the problems writers have in what to do with DD have to do with the fear of straying too far away from Miller's style. I think his not being very powerful would make him easier to write though. It doesn't exactly take a visit from Galactus to get him into trouble. I read Superman as a kid, and wouldn't even be interested in revisiting that now because he's too powerful to me.
I also hate to see Brubaker go, but I'll be curious to see what comes next. I've heard mostly good things about Diggle. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

There is also something written on Typhoid Mary's earring, the one on the right, but I can't tell what it is, exactly. |

Looking at the ultra-hi-res version that's knocking about online, it looks like it says "Cammo". I don't know what that means, though. |

Yeah, it definitely ends starts with "CAM" and ends with "O". I was guessing that it might be CAMEO actually, though it could be something else entirely. If anyone out there has the time, one idea would be to play around with the contrast or something. Meanwhile, I'm - eh - supposed to be working. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Maybe Typhoid Mary is going to make a cameo in this issue? |

I'm thrilled that the re-boot has finally been merged into the original series and number scheme, officially recognizing the existence of a 500th issue (and counting)!
When I was a kid growing up in the 1960s & 70s and collecting Daredevil, I used to be impressed with those ancient DC titles like Detective Comics and Action Comics, that hit those seemingly impossible heights. (Of course those DC titles are now well into their 800s!). It's great to realize that after all these years both Mr. Murdock and I have lived to see the publication of a landmark 500th edition of Daredevil. I guess that now makes me ancient as well.

Reading some of Diggle's stuff. I'm not too impressed. I'm hoping I will be though.
But I am hopeful of DD maybe getting a lighter tone, ie...change of pace from "**** storm of hellish problems for Matt/ DD" to maybe "possible **** storms with chances of oh no" |

I love DD and I will be sticking to it regardless of creative team. I do have a favorite writer, Warren Ellis. I pick up whatever s#!+ he whips out. I loved Bendis run on DD but I only read New Avengers from him. Brubaker's run for me is awesome, but outside fan of DD I was never a Brubaker and I guess I never will be. I don't intend to pick up any Diggle piece either. But I have fingers and toes crossed that he will do good with DD.
@Isaac: I wish the Kingpin dies as well.
@everyone: I wish we could all promote DD to people we know who read comics. DD is such a fantastic character no matter whom is writing the book. _________________ "I'm only a DEVIL to those who are demonic." |

I will stay on board as long as they keep the writing away from the ultra lame Dark Reign. I can only stand so much. _________________ How do you kill a man without fear?

In all actuality Dark Reign would probably boost DD's sales. Not that sales is everything but it seems that Deadpool who isn't even remotely as awesome as DD is getting alot of attention now because of Marvel whoring him out.So if DD's book start going under I would rather him be part of a bunch of lame storylines for exposure than cancelled.Marvel obviously doesn't mind throwing characters away. _________________ kakkate kina.. |
