So, did anyone else pick up the Brubaker DD Omnibus? My copy just arrived today. A decent package with a nice foreword by Bendis and a few good extras, in a format that will sit very nicely next to the Bendis/Maleev Omnibus. (Even if it is a lot slimmer than that book: it collects fewer issues, and the paper seems to be a little less thick than the paper used for the previous Omnibus).
My only problem is Marvel's decision to release these Omnibuses (Omnibii? ) out of sequence - I would much rather have read the end of Bendis & Maleev's run in this format before they moved on to Brubaker's stuff.
Ah well. |

You're right, I'm personally waiting for the rest of B&M's run, more than Brubaker's.

I picked it up and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I myself, did not pick up the first Bendis/Maleev Omnibus because I already have the 5 hardcovers collecting that run. As nice as the omnibus is, I just couldn't bring myself to pay that price for something I already had (and that is a little easier to read from).
I've been waiting for this collection for quite some time as I prefer hardcovers and all they had previously released of the Brubaker/Lark run was the tpbs.
I do have to agree that the sequencing of the omnibus releases doesn't make much sense. Even if I would have had to wait longer for this one, the 2nd Bendis/Maleev book should have been dropped first. _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

I wonder if they're waiting for End of Days to come out so that the second Bendis DD Omnibus will be definitive. Maybe they'll throw Ninja in there too? |

What kinds of extras are we talking about? I'll get this eventually anyway, but just trying to figure out how badly I want it right now. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

The extras include the variant covers for issues #82 and 100, the Marvel Spotlight interview with Brubaker/Lark, and cover sketches/pencils for the Lee Bermejo covers (#88-93, 100), inks on Romita's #94 cover and cover sketches for some of Djurdjevic's covers (#96-100). _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

Yeah, it's not the most comprehensive package, but it's a pretty good selection. |

Well, it looks like the second Bendis Omnibus is coming in September.
Ninja and What if Karen Page Had Lived are included, along with the remaining issues from the Bendis/Maleev run.

An update on the second Bendis/Maleev Omnibus: Ninja will no longer be included. Instead, some issues of Bendis's Ultimate Marvel Team-Up will take its place.

The Bendis one, or the Brubaker one? |

The Brubaker version Volume 2 is expensive, but not too much for an omnibus. Volume 1 is hardly anywhere, and when I do find it it has a HEFTY price tag.
I got the ultimate trades for the Bendis run. Does anyone think they should ultimate trade Brubaker's issues? |
