Do we know if Daredevil will revert back to the original numbering at issue 120 and be number 500? |

Personally I doubt it. It didn't happen at #400 (Volume 2 #20) and around that time they reverted to the old numbering in The Amazing Spider-Man. If they didn't do it then, I don't know why they wouldn't do it at #120 especially when they got to treat Volume 2 #100 like a big deal with the all the variant covers and the reprint of an old issue. They didn't revert to the old numbering for The Incredible Hulk either, and he has a higher profile in Marvel than Daredevil. |

Perhaps. However, the Hulk's old numbering didn't involve anything near thirty-five years of continuous publication contained within one volume. Through all of its many highs and lows as a publication, Daredevil just kept chugging along!
For old-timers like me, who have every Daredevil issue ever published, the old numbering is important. I understood the need for the reboot. Thank goodness, the reboot worked otherwise we wouldn't have a Daredevil at all. That said, it's now time to pay proper homage to DD's history and longevity. I strongly hope that vol. II #120 - or more importantly milestone issue #500 -would be cause enough to consistently bring back the old numbering in some sort of manner.
I can imagine that one of the great joys for collectors of Action Comics, Detective Comics, Superman or Batman is that these books now extend into the 800s! You could have been collecting Action Comics for the past thirty five years and still have only half the set! But the point is this: You're not just buying a title, you've become part of a comic book institution that will one day hit a mindbending 1,000 issues! I give the wizards at DC credit - whatever rebooting they did to Batman and Supeman over the years, was done without seriously affecting publication of their original flagship titles.
Of course, Marvel is younger than DC. Marvel's equivalent is 500 (or better). That's something to be mighty proud of, too. And Daredevil is one of the few, and arguably perhaps the least expected, of all of Marvel's creations to have made it! By comparison, if I'm not mistaken, the Hulk's original silver age comic book never made it past ten issues.

I think there is an interview of Warren Simons where he hinted that they might switch back the old numbering at #500... I think it was on Newsrama but I don't have time to search it now... _________________ Visit the Red Shaker |

Well, do we want it to be 500? I do. And I bet we can have an influence on that. I'm just saying. |

If we can be an influence on this matter then count me in. I feel that even if it is only for the one issue, it is landmark, DD deserves it and it should also be double sized. Maybe the issue should get the same treatment as was given to issue #100 minus the two variant covers - maybe. That's my two cents worth! |

I'd certanly love something special! Wraparound cover! Special guest artists! Foggy's marriage!!
According to Rucka, Brubaker has plots ready for 24 DD issues more, so, as long as the celebration doesn't distract a good ongoing story by him, I'd like #500 to be celebrated as it deserves! _________________ Gloria

Yeah, I'd like to see a DD #500. Just for posterity. |

Barring an act of G-d, I think it's a pretty safe bet that we will see a DD #500 - if for no other reason than landmark issues can be marketed as special collectors' editions or something silly like that.
It's what happens AFTER #500 that makes me wonder. My hope is that the next issue is #501, rather than - or at least simultaneous with - #121.
