Daredevil Message Board The Board Without Fear!

The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

The Owl's one of those characters that will just come back. Surprise. There he is! Didn't he die once before and just sort of reappear? _________________ JC

What the... a bit off topic but I'm getting sick of it. I disagree with Castle, he associates me with the Overlord. I disagree with you, you associate me with Castle. Bah.
The siege of avengers mansion! Avengers Mansion. The avengers. A group of superheroes. How unusual for a group of supervillains to go up against a group of superheroes!
Anyway, whatever you say. DD should have villains team up because other titles have had such team ups in the past, even though they are very different titles from DD.
I just pray that the current and subsequent writers drop this perverted mechanism of yours. The one of coming up with an idea first, falling in love with it, and then finding ways to make it plausible (with high risk of failure). |
I'm sorry, I forgot I was comic book writer and marvel has to listen to everything I say. Clearly I should be fired and lose all of my worldly goods.
God forbid I should bring up speculation about DD characters on DD board, should get your permission and james's before posting next time?
Will you stop coping an attitude and trying disagreeing, in a civil and polite manner. That's a lesson you and james might want to look up. Yeah I'm associating you two, because you are acting the same at the moment. I have been to other messages boards where people disagree but they are nice about, with you guys you treat any opinion different from yours as hearsay. We both just guys on message board, our opinions don't mean much regards to how DD is written.
Mods, if you want to lock this thread, go ahead, I don't care anymore. |

This REALLY is what I call "foul play".
Let's see. In the opening post you asked:
the Overlord wrote: | Can super villain team ups work in DD comics? Would a team of villains have a name like the "Emissaries of Evil" or would they not bother having an official name? If it is a good idea, who would be on this team? |
To which I answered:
Quote: | it's an idea that stinks of "bronze age Marvel", and reeks of "DD is more or less a Spidey clone", not to mention the fact that it would be hard to implement in modern storytelling |
In short, the answer was "no, I don't think such team ups can work in DD comics" and I also gave three reasons for why I think that.
I disagreed with you.
It was you, then, with the subsequent reply, who refused to accept that I could disagree. you said:
the Overlord wrote: | Besides villains can team for objectives besides killing DD. How can say its a Spidey rip off when almost every hero has faced against a villain team at one time or another, some in inv ery recent times. Variety is the spice of life, look at Spider-man, some villains have a persoanl grudge against him, like Gobby, while others are just interested in wealth and power, like Doc Ock and Shocker. |
Heck, it seemed like I was the writer who had to be convinced of that. You continued by saying that Flash has done this, and the X-men, and the Avengers, and Batman etc. Couldn't you just accept that I was disagreeing?
Castle also corrected you about Brubaker's X-men and then you replied to him all insulted, when you could've just replied something on the line of "yeah, got that wrong".
In conclusion, I really don't think you're the most suited to teach how to react to divergent opinions/disagreements.

Too easy. What about the others who care about this topic? Uhm, wait a minute...

Errrrr. How did I get roped into this? Here is the entirety of my contribution to this thread:
ME! wrote: |
Very bronze age, indeed. When was the last time the X-Men fought the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants? A very long time indeed.
Also, the Marauders story is in X-Men, not Uncanny. Bru didn't write it. He wrote something about the X-Men going to space. Nice work on going off half cocked again though.
The Owl's one of those characters that will just come back. Surprise. There he is! Didn't he die once before and just sort of reappear? |
You threw out an opinion and then some examples and counter-examples to back it up. I pointed out that your X-Related examples were wrong. I called your approach "half cocked" because it seems to me that you didn't really think about the issue that much (hence all the errors). Sure, that's vaguely insulting but certainly no more than your use of the rolly eye smiley.
In any event, you say that I treat different opinions as "hearsay". Hearsay is "an out of court statement tendered at trial for the truth of its contents". Half cocked again. _________________ JC

Wait, wait. I got it. It should be a minor team up, one that could work without having to involve targeting Daredevil/Matt Murdock.
It can be done.
Bullet, Ammo and Shotgun.
The "firearms" common theme. It can be done. Hired mercenaries. With some ambitions (Bullet and Ammo). Proficient with weapons (Ammo and Shotgun). All three good hand-to-hand fighters.
Bullet has worked with the government in the past. The government in the Marvel comics is now more than ever willing to employ baddies for dirty jobs.
Get me Joe Quesada, guys.
Edited: Rats. Reminds too much of the DD revenge squad now that I think about it. |
