Daredevil visits the police station where Bitmap had taken Sinclair Spectrum and killed several cops. He finds a piece of Bitmap's containment suit in the rafters.
Back at System Crash's hideout, Baron Strucker explains his plans to Sinclair. Using NSA files on line-eaters, stolen by Knowbot, Hydra will create an unbreakable code system. Since the government won't be able to spy on its own people, they'll have to resort to, "Gestapo techniques". This culture of fear leads to anarchy that Hydra can exploit to rule the world. Steel Collar remarks on how much Sinclair reminds him of himself, before he became a machine.
On personal notes, Karen brings her computer disk to the cops, but they can't find the footage of a girl being raped. The officer dismisses her as trying to "stage a comeback". Matt Murdock thinks he should have dropped the Daredevil name entirely and left NYC altogether. But in a climate of fear, people need a Man Without Fear. Captain America wonders if the American ideals he believed in are at risk from his own government.
Daredevil learns the leaf left in a System Crash break-in came from the Botanical Gardens. He and Cap investigate and find Hydra. Our heroes are overwhelmed by Hydra agents and System Crash. Cap is captured and DD is left for dead.
I gotta say, Strucker's plan isn't half-bad. Creating a climate of fear
through technology, manipulating governments and citizens into perpetual
civil unrest; hell, it's almost happening now! But Strucker failed to
reckon with the overwhelming power of American apathy! We just don't give
enough of a damn to fight back!
