Issue Summary

DD sits atop a lamp post outside his apartment. Hordes of reporters are below, unaware that DD is above them. DD pulls his mask off. Matt thinks to himself that he's not afraid of them. He's the man without fear. The uniform means the world to him. Matt then realizes he's being stupid and quickly puts his mask back on as a reporter catches a glimpse of him. Soon all the reporters look up and take pictures, but DD is not there.

Matt sits on the ledge of another building and ponders how his world is falling apart. He has to focus. Foggy could be right, everything is up for grabs. Everything can be taken away. A scream of "Nooo!" interrupts his thoughts. He knows what he must do. He has to focus.

On the street, DD saves a woman who's being attacked by two thugs. DD smacks one of the guys right into a diner. DD returns the lady's purse. Two people inside the diner are reading the Daily Globe and one asks DD what colour his shirt is. DD doesn't get to answer as a loud boom interrupts. The other diner makes it a point to say that DD didn't answer the question.

Inside Matt's apartment, Foggy is frantically trying to get the police on the phone. Objects are flying through the windows and the apartment keeps shaking.

Outside, Mr. Hyde has a car on his shoulders, ready to throw it Foggy's way. Hyde wants Matt to come out. But before Hyde can throw the car, a web stops him. Spider-Man swings the car back at Hyde, knocking him down. Daredevil shows up and smashes a mailbox over Hyde's head. The two heroes take turns with Hyde and finally DD punches Hyde unconcious.

The reporters on the scene want DD to talk, but he gets away from the scene with Spider-Man. The reporters then focus their attention on Foggy in the smashed windows of the apartment.

TWENTY-SIX DAYS LATER

Matt is meeting with Ben Urich and Foggy and we find out Matt has been in Japan. Matt called Urich to let him know that there will be a press conference tomorrow, right outside the law office. Urich wants to know what Matt will say. Matt won't tell him. Matt then says that his 'secret relationship' with Urich has to end. He's in debt to all the help Urich has done, but he can't ask Urich to lie anymore. Someone will figure it out and try to get to him. Urich still wants to know what Matt is going to say at the press conference.

In the morning, the reporters are anxiously awaiting Matt Murdock. He emerges from the office and he's asked if he is Daredevil.

The world waits for his answer.
