Issue Summary

Summary by johndunbar

*A diner in NYC, now

Ben continues the talk with the mystery person, says he knew Matt Murdock was Daredevil long before he outed himself, but couldn't write the story that would make him a rich man because of the moral repercussions he would face within himself. His adversaries would also make Matt's life hell if Ben wrote the story. Ben says DD's rogues really do fear him; it's taken a full year for someone to make a play for Hell's Kitchen. Ben recounts the tale from here...

*10th Ave NYC, two days ago

Matt is standing on guard, ready to face a hundred silent opponents, at least one of which is on MGH. Matt makes the first move, striking quickly, taking out numerous men. Ben identifies them as Yakuza, Japanese underworld, with much the same characteristics as American mafia. Many witnesses saw the fight, but not one could give a definite identification of Matt, continuing his urban legend status.

Ben confirms that the FBI have been keeping tabs of Matt during this year, and that West Coast crime organizations, especially the Yakuza, have been making tons of money on the MGH drug. Mutant Growth Hormone or MGH started on the East Coast, DD acted quickly to make sure it didn't become a concern, but wasn't completely successful. Ben says it's like human growth hormone; it creates a temporary genetic shift, like a super boost.

The fight continues, Matt still with the upper hand, but he gets trapped against a wall as bullets barrage around him. Matt leaps into the air, the men use sword and knife attacks. Swat teams arrive; flash bang grenades help to control the situation. The FBI gets control, Agent Driver emerges from the surveillance van wanting to know where Matt is, but he isn't to be found.

*The diner, now

Ben says he doesn't know where Matt disappeared to, just hopes he is ok. The mystery person appreciates Ben taking the time to explain all this, but doesn't really care about all that. The mystery person is Milla, "I just need you to help me find my husband. Please help me find Matthew." A shocked Ben, "Husband."
